I have found that photography allows me to capture the magic of the world instantaneously and to find the unseen, underappreciated details of the world.
My goal is to capture the bare-naked beauty of the intimate, the small, the infinitesimal, the unnoticed and to present these findings to the viewer.
My idea is that you can photograph dreams, hopes, desires, and nightmares, fears, loss, pain as well.
My goal with photography is to capture what I see beyond reality, to capture my vision of reality, the mysterious underground of what I perceive as reality. Whether it’s my fear or my sense of wonder, everything is filtered through my inner, subconscious, subterranean eye.
My wish is to transcend what is captured mechanically with the lens and portray the poetry that attracted me to that subject when I first saw it (or imagined it).
I also want to stimulate and trigger my viewers’ imagination, experiences, emotions, and memories, because at some point in their life they might have seen what I saw.
To me photography is like a window on the inside, more so than on the outside. Actually the world outside can be used to mirror what is going on in the soul, it’s a reflection: it makes me see the world, rather than just look at it.
After paying closer and more careful attention to the world I have a gained a true sense of wonder, of the infinite as well as of the infinitesimal. I like to explore quotidian details and find the abstract. I am constantly learning through photography, in a sometimes painful, sometimes liberating, process of self-discovery.
Photographers that inspire me: Minor White, Man Ray, Edward Weston, Barbara Ess, and many more.
