My life starts on a cold March afternoon in Geneva, Switzerland, sometime in the early seventies. My family and I live a couple of years in London, England and then move over to Italy, where my parents are from, for a few defining childhood years on the coast of Sorrento.
The sea, with its constant changes and unsettling moods, will always be an inspiration in my life and to my art. I live these first years immersed in nature. My father is an amateur photographer, and from a very young age infuses the love for observation in me. Many mornings he wakes me up at 5am in the morning to enjoy the sunrise, go fishing on the ocean, and look for the unnoticed in the world.
My mother is a botanist and has helped me see the infinitesimal details of nature with awe. In my teens I move to Rome, city of art, source of constant illumination, where I have met many artists and soaked up centuries of art influence. While on an intense career path as a corporate management consultant, I always find time for art, searching for inspiration and time for art every day. As an artist, I began as a poet many years ago, then moved into painting but found my strongest calling in photography. I moved to USA for work and found love and inspiration here, where I have set my family. I often look back at my home, Italy, with nostalgia and longing. I am inspired daily by people, nature and the simple things in life.
